１．きっかけ・情報源
連日のメダルラッシュ。それに伴うさまざまなドラマの数々。テレビでニュースで動画で、夢中になってオリンピックを見ています。
毎日こんなにスポーツを見ることもなかなかありません。せっかくの機会ですので、しっかりとスポーツの英語表現を覚えたいと思います。
今日はNHK英語ニュース（金メダリストの記事※）から、様々なスポーツで使える基本的な英語表現をピックアップしてみました。（※最終的に27選手が金メダリストに。記事も27あります）。

↓「東京2020オリンピック・パラリンピック公式競技図鑑」。本屋でパラパラとめくってみると、めちゃくちゃ分かりやすい！！思わず買ってしまいました。１競技が1～2ページくらいでまとまっています。写真や図も豊富。オリンピックの33競技が何かも分かりました。ミライトワがオリンピックのマスコット、ソメイティがパラリンピックのマスコットだということも！！

世界の国や地域のこと、各競技のルールや特徴、それらに伴う英語表現などなど、こんなにたくさんのことがオリンピックで学べるとは思っていませんでした。
閉会式の8/8まであと10日、どんなことがさらに学べるか！？とても楽しみです。

４．全国通訳案内士試験問題：オリンピック関連
2015年（平成27年）から2020年（令和2年）の全国通訳案内士筆記試験「一般常識」ではほぼ毎年スポーツ関連の問題も出題されています。そのうち6問がオリンピックに関連する問題でした。
